Since Abenomics was introduced in 2013, lingering concerns continue to cloud the outlook for the Japanese economy, and cast doubt on the robustness of the real estate market. The lack of a sustained improvement in upward inflationary pressure is an ongoing concern among investors, rested partly on the reluctance of Japanese companies — despite record-high corporate profits and cash balances — to increase capital expenditure, boost hiring and improve wages, even as earnings continue to rise from very accommodative global monetary policy and strengthening world growth.
