TH Real Estate appoints Lunson Mitchenall on Canterbury Scheme

Whitefriars Shopping Centre

TH Real Estate has appointed Lunson Mitchenall as joint leasing agent for Whitefriars Shopping Centre, Canterbury.

The leading niche retail and leisure agent will work alongside existing agent, MMX Retail, to continue to develop the line-up at the 600,000 sq ft uncovered shopping centre, which is anchored by Primark, Marks & Spencer and Fenwick.

Whitefriars Shopping Centre is located at the heart of Canterbury, one of the UK’s most historic Cathedral cities, and attracts approximately 13 million visitors a year. The centre benefits from a varied offer, including impressive brands such as Next, Zara, Karen Millen, H&M and River Island. Lunson Mitchenall and MMX Retail will work together to further diversify the centre’s mix by securing new fashion and catering names, which will complement the existing line-up.

Chris Parfitt, Director of Shopping Centres, TH Real Estate, commented "Last year we secured Primark a 60,000 sq ft anchor store which was a real game changer for Whitefriars Shopping Centre cementing its position as the fashion destination of choice as well as enhancing Canterbury’s retail offer. With the help of Lunson Mitchenall and MMX Retail we are aiming to build on this success and look forward to announcing exciting new names for the scheme soon."

Hayley Gisborne, Director for Lunson Mitchenall, added "We are delighted to have secured this new instruction which will allow us to draw on our strong retailer relationships. Whitefriars Shopping Centre benefits from being located in one of the UK’s most attractive locations, with a strong catchment and diverse shopper demographic. We are looking forward to working with the team to reinforce its reputation as a dominant regional retail destination."
