Public invited to view updated plans for £75m Princesshay extension

The Princesshay Partnership will be holding a public exhibition on 22 and 23 July to set out its detailed plans for a £75m leisure extension to Princesshay Shopping Centre.

The plans, which were given the go ahead by Exeter City Council in January 2016, would see part of the current bus and coach station site transformed into new restaurants, shops and a cinema, set within substantially revitalised public spaces, including an outdoor amphitheatre.

With the outline proposals already consented as of January 2016, the second consultation will give members of the public the chance to see how the design has evolved and learn more about some of the detailed elements of the scheme, such as architectural design, materials, and the proposed mix of retail, leisure and restaurant uses.
The exhibition will be held in Bedford Square at Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter on the following dates:

Friday 22 July: 10am – 5pm
Saturday 23 July: 10am – 3pm

John Grinnell, from The Crown Estate said: “The extension of Princesshay will significantly improve the range of restaurants, retail and leisure amenities available in the city centre, which will be a great boost for inward investment into Exeter, for local trade and business, and for jobs and growth. We’ve been working hard since receiving outline consent earlier this year so we’re really looking forward to showcasing the detailed plans to local people and hearing their views.”

The Princesshay Partnership includes The Crown Estate and TH Real Estate.

Following the exhibition, The Partnership will continue to develop its reserved matters planning application which will then be considered by Exeter City Council.
